#1. Lillet Aperitif, France $22.99 Since 1887 Lillet has been made in the village of Podensac, just 20 miles south of the city Bordeaux. It is golden in color, with a floral nose. This delicious aperitif has flavors of honey, candied orange, lime and fresh mint. Apricot Chevre – France $7.50 each A mild French goat cheese covered in diced apricots and served with butter lettuce and pinenuts.
#2. Domaine de la Pigeade, Muscat de Beaumes de Venise – France $19.99 Harvested by hand and one of France’s most popular dessert wines, the 93 point 2004 Muscat de Beaumes de Venise is lively and fresh with a soft nose showcasing lychee and mango with floral hints. Humbolt Fog– California $28/lb This is an elegant, soft, goat’s milk cheese. Its texture is creamy and luscious with a subtle tangy flavor. Each wheel has a ribbon of vegetable ash along its center. Served with Foie gras with truffles.
#3. Warres Optima 10 Tawny Porto– Portugal $32.99 The grapes used in this port are a blend of traditional Portuguese varieties from the Douro Valley. Once the grapes are hand picked, they are aged for 10 years in oak barrels. The nose has dried fruits and walnuts with a palate of classic flavors of nuts, highlighted by mature fruit and ending with a well-balanced long fresh finish. Beaufort – France $33/lb This is a hard, somewhat sharp cheese made high in the French Alps, which contributes to its unique flavor. It is similar to Gruyere and Emmental, but often considered superior in taste.
#4. Jonsey Tawny Port – Australia $14.99 Made by Trevor Jones in partnership with importer Dan Philips, this is a blend averaging 46 years in age. Its ruby hue is accompanied by an extraordinary bouquet of sweet candied fruit intermixed with notions of maple syrup, earth and hazelnuts. St. Agur – France $30/lb This delicious triple crème blue cheese from Auvergne, located in central France is aged for 60 days in cellars and becomes stronger and spicier as it ages. It’s not as salty as more traditional blue cheeses, but its tangy and creamy nature are balanced so not to overpower with a sharp bite. Paired with our Spanish fig cake, which can be enjoyed with a variety of blue cheeses.
#5. Dow’s Late Bottled Vintage Porto 2000 – Portugal $25.99 Dow’s LBV is full-bodied, rich but perfectly balanced with soft peppery tannins and with a fine acidity that ensure perfect balance on the palate and a dry finish. Basset Colston Stilton- England $25/lb Aged for 4 months, it tastes best from October to February, when wheels from rich August milk are released. The aroma is sharply nutty and the flavor is full of mellow nuts and fruit. Paired with Morel cherries from France.
