1.  Jacquin ashed chevre pyramid– Jacquin, France                                     

This fresh chevre is dusted in ash and shaped into a pyramid. It is mild, with a light citrus flavor.

 

Regis Minet Pouilly Fume 2005 – France                                   $24.99

A sauvignon blanc from the Loire Valley, this pouilly fume has notes of lemon and minerality, a slight herbaceousness along with crisp acidity and a long finish.

 

Hemp Man Brown Ale (MBC)Maui, Hawaii          (Available at brewery)

This is American-style brown ale spiced with hemp seeds, which impart a pleasant nuttiness.  This beer is fairly light but loaded with character.  Creamy yet dry finish; soft and slightly spicy.

 

2.  Manchego – La Mancha, Spain                                                      $26/lb

Typically considered Spain’s most popular cheese, Manchego is a semi-firm sheep’s milk cheese made in the La Mancha region of Spain.  Manchego is aged for a minimum of three months and has a flavor that is mild, subtle and fresh.

 

Bodega Pineros Rosado 2005 – Spain                                         $17.99

This 50% cabernet and 50% merlot rose deep pink in color, fresh yet shows creamy berry fruit flavors and a mouth-feel reminiscent of lighter red wines.  This versatile rose can be enjoyed on its own or paired with most foods.

 

Maui Pale Ale (MBC) – Maui, Hawaii                        (Available at brewery)

Pale in this case refers to a beer that is not dark or black.  This pale ale is an amber/copper color and has a lingering citrus-like hop flavor and bitterness with a toffee-like malt finish. 

 

3.   Fromager D’Affinois – Affinois, France                                        $23/lb

One of our most popular cheeses, this double-crème is soft ripened, and covered in a soft bloomy rind. It has a silkier texture than Brie and a sweet mild flavor.

 

Girsaole – Mendocino, California                                                       $14.99

          This medium weight chardonnay has flavors of baked green apple, pear, lemon zest, and a hint of vanilla citrus and tropical fruit.

 

          Bikini Blonde (MBC) – Maui, Hawaii              $1.89 can/$10.99 6 pack

        The lightest of the beers made by Maui Brewing Company, it is made from 100% malted barley. It’s light and refreshing with very little bitterness and a slight malt finish.

 

4.   Taleggio -- Italy                                                                          $20/lb

Taleggio is a semi-soft, washed-rind cheese from the Valtaleggio region in northern Italy, near Lombardy. It is characteristically aromatic yet mild in flavor and features tangy, meaty notes with a fruity finish. The texture of the cheese is moist-to-oozy with a very pleasant melt-in-your-mouth feel.

 

Bloom Red Petals 2005 -- Germany                                            $10.99

        Dark cherry in color, Bloom is a medium–bodied red, and is on the sweeter side.  The varietal is called Dornfelder, a classic German red grape.  The silkiness of this wine, combined with low tannins and no oak make this an easy drink.  It is best enjoyed when it is served with a slight chill.

 

          Amazon Blonde (MBC) – Maui, Hawaii             (Available at Brewery)

        Amazon Blonde is somewhat similar to the Bikini Blonde, but bigger.  This beer is more esthery, and fruity and made with a Belgium yeast.   

 

5.   Bavaria Blu – Germany                                                               $25/lb

This is the authentic triple crème soft ripened cheese creation with white and blue mold.  It has a silky texture, which is perfectly complimented by the velvety, creamy blue veined interior. Bavaria Blue still ripens naturally as it did in the old days. Bavaria Blu becomes increasingly rich and buttery as it ripens with a complex, yet balanced blue cheese flavor.

 

        Tokay – Australia                                                                    $49.99

“The Tokay” shows plenty of caramel, toffee and nutty like characters.  It also offers raisin/brown sugar-like fruit with a sweet, rich, luscious palate, finishing round and just a touch dry from the oak tannin and warm alcohol.

 

        Harp Lager – Ireland                                                           $1.99/bottle

This rich, golden, pilsner style lager, with a smooth refreshing, hoppy taste, is brewed the Irish way, using only the finest barley and pure spring water from the Cooley Mountains of Dundalk, Ireland.
