Aloha to all our fromager fans and friends,

Here we go again—Cele-brate good times…come on!!! Year number two—YAHOO!!!

Who would of thunk?! And, again and again we owe it all to YOU—our deepest and heartfelt mahalo for being a part of our last two great years. So, guess what? We’re having another party for you on Saturday, May 7th, yes, the day before Moms’ day. We will be offering deluxe “schnicky schnacks” during the afternoon of our normal business hours (2pm-7pm).

For the celebration there will be assorted cheeses, Leyden quesadillas, Island-sauced BBQ chicken, Terrapin Ridge wasabi-lime and cilantro marinated shrimp, and an incredible, eclectic bleu cheese dip with crudités. To quench your thirst we will be serving Alli’s lavender lemonade… graciously donated by the Lavender Farm—Mahalo. Be sure to drop your business card in the basket for hourly prize drawings.

And, another big event will be on Saturday, July 9th 1-3pm—What’s the big stink? Join us on the west side at Lahaina Coolers where we will try to demystify the big “stinkers”! Call for details and reservations 874.3930.

New Faces in the Cheese case:

·        Mimolette—revisited—this is the cantelope cheese, but only by appearance. It is aged 18 months and flavor profile is a cross of an aged gouda (how-duh) and aged cheddar. It has nuances of toasted pumpkin seeds (pepitas). Likes a good Rhone wine like Parallel 45.

·        Chevre Noir is a goat cheddar from Canada. Out of sight mouth-coating feel and an extremely long buttery finish. All you guys and gals still scared of goat cheese should check this one out!  Try this with the Ste. M Reisling from Palz, Germany.

·        Big Island Goat is BACK!!! After months of being MIA, they’re back…these yummy cheeses are here for the moment, so gettem while we gottem!

Cheesy trivia:  You know those little “crunchies” you feel in the aged Goudas or Cheddars? Those are potassium crystals that come about with age.

Don’t forget some cheesy treats and libations for Mom and your overworked tax accountant to show your love and appreciation!

Cheers and A Sante from the Cheese Team!
