Welcome Home Julie!

If you recall back in September Who Cut The Cheese participated in a fundraiser at the Grand Wailea for Julie Wood.

A huge success in that through wine, cheese, and the generosity of the community we raised almost $35,000! And yes, Julie did go to Sweden for a treatment for her rare cancer which is not currently available in the U.S.  Above is a picture of Julie on a morning walk through the streets of Stockholm!  Now, she is home after 2 months of treatment. WELCOME HOME JULIE, we wish you the very best in your recovery. You go girl!

New Faces of Spring

igourmet imported from FranceLe Somport

A rich, mellow, and slightly nutty cow's milk cheese from the Pyreneees Alps in France. From this region we commonly find sheep and goat's milk cheeses, so this is a treat! It is semi-firm with a white paste and small holes. It is an artisianal, handmade, and small production cheese made from raw cow's milk. Again, to be allowed into the US by USDA standards, a raw milk cheese must be aged 60 days. Surprisingly, we do have quite a few raw milk cheeses. Come check out Le Somport, price: $30/lb.

Suggested wine pairing: Try Le Somport with our latest merlot deal... Beringer Napa Merlot 2001.  A big hit at our last tasting! There are not too many merlots available with 8 years in the bottle, and check out this deal! Was $31.99...oureconomic stimulator this month $12.99!!!  The fruit is holding devinely, it's soft, supple and darn yummy! Limited supply so get in here while supply lasts!

For an Economic Stimulator in the white category, try a fun South African Chardonnay...Fluer du Cap. This is an easy going, every so lightly oaked Chardonnay...light to medium bodied and a steal of a deal at $11.99!!!
