Aloha fellow cheese enthusiasts!

NEW FACES AROUND THE CAVE!!

Welcome back Jillyn and welcome Jessica to our “wee” staff. Stop by and say hi, and they’ll introduce you to the new “faces” in the cheese case.

·              Lamb Chopper---VAHROOOOOM! This yummy tidbit is an organic sheep’s milk cheese made by the same folks who bring us Humboldt Fog, Midnight Moon, and Mt. McKinley, but Lamb Chopper hails from Holland. Lamb Chopper has a bit of a tang from the sheep’s milk and a touch of mellow nuttiness with its young age.

·              Mimolette debuting from France is made from cow’s milk and is a real beauty, resembling a big plump cantaloupe, but its way more! Having aged 3 years its flavor is somewhere between aged cheddar and Gouda. According to the Cheese Primer this was Charles de Gaulle’s favorite cheese.

CHEESE EVENTS

The Summertime Blues tasting hosted at Spagos in June was a totally too-much-fun sell-out! The French Connection will be hosted at the Huffords’ in lower Kula on Saturday, September 11th from 1pm-3pm. Most likely this will be a sell out as well. Call for more details and to make your reservation. Space is limited to 25. Limousine, taxi or carpooling is greatly encouraged.

CHEESE TRIVIA

Did you know we have some really OLD cheese? Cantal from France has been produced for over 2,000 years, and Taleggio from Italy for over 1,200 years. I do believe these cheeses border on perfection!! Come give them a try or revisit them.

CHEESE AND WINE OF THE MONTH

In August we will kick off our first monthly wine & cheese special. We are pairing Estancia Chardonnay from Monterey, CA with Cantal from Auvergne, France (half a pound) for only $19.95. Such a deeeelicious deal! Look for our in store flyers and ads in the Weekly for our future monthly features.

THE HOLIDAYS ARE COMING!!!  Celebrate Christmas NOT “Stressmas”!  Place your holiday basket and party platter orders early, and leave the “stress” to us. Challenging client or in-law? No worries! How about a Cheesy Wish Gift Certificate! Baskets start at $40.00 and party platters start at $30.00. Gift Certificates are limitless!

Cheers and God Bless from ALL of us at Who Cut the Cheese
