“ASHED WONDERS” REVISITED:
·
Morbier from Haut Jura,
France is a classic made from cows' milk. This peanut butter-like in feel has
an incredibly rich feel on the palate with nutty and earthy flavors.
$16.00/pound.
·
Humboldt Fog from Humboldt County,
CA is made from goats' milk, This a very fresh cheese offering Brie-like creamy
characteristics on the outer edge with beautiful crumbly interior. $24.00/pound
CHEESY TRIVIA:
The horizontal blue vein you see in the above mentioned cheeses
is a vegetable ash, and in days past the purpose of the vegetable ash was to
keep the flies off between the morning and evening milking. Today it is more
for an aesthetic value.
REMINDER:
Our cheeses and wine get invited to all the parties! Bring in
your own platter and we will design a party hit, or we can hook you up with one
of our NEW bamboo cheese boards delightfully designed for your next party. Then
you can bring your board back for a refill for other occasions.
Cheers and make it a Maui Gourmet Day,
The Cheesy Gals
