Dad Rocks!!!
Remember Pop this Father's Day on Sunday, June 21st
This year we’re offering the Dad’s Day Bloody Mary Special! Aalborg Akvavit, a Danish spirit that is distilled from caraway seeds. This makes any bloody Mary rock, remember, just like Dad! Now, hook up this special spirit with Rick’s Pick Mean Beans or Smokra and a hunk of Leyden cheese - a great gift! Regularly $46.99 for this pairing but for Dad's Day specially priced at $38.99. Go Dads!!! For our mustard aficionados, we recommend a jar of Fox Hollow Balsamic mustard and a 1/4lb of salami for only $11.99
Manly Cheeses - 15% off for Dad's Day
- Malt Whisky Cheddar
- Cotswold “the twice baked potato cheese”
- Cahill Porter, cheddary Irish cheese infused with Porter stout beer
- Red Dragon, Cheddar with mustard seed
- Leyden, Gouda with cumin, aromatic to the max, and again, great with the Bloody Mary idea!
New on the Maui Cheese Front
Big Cheese teams up the Rimfire Imports!!! Now chefs/restaurants and small retailers can get artisanal and imported cheeses easily to fulfill your customers’ requests and expectations.
The time we’re experiencing encourages all of us to be creative and think outside the box. Finally, the time has come for restaurants to have the opportunity to offer delectable cheese offerings without killing their inventory. Small retailers can offer their customers cut-specific orders while they don’t have to track inventory/dates and most importantly spoilages. Everybody wins!!! Fresh, yummy and delicious cheeses will be knocking at your local retailers’ doors or at one of your favorite restaurants soon!
Remember, when you are out dining, please ask for a cheese course. It’s almost certain that you already have been! You crazy queso-philes!

New on the Panini Grill
The Big Cheese and her brother, Hank, had to reach way back to their childhood days and snacking experiences from the C & M Market in La Jolla, for this inspiration. That market is long gone, but the artichoke frittata tortas are forever in their memories as a truly classic sandwich. That being told, those memories inspired the newest Panini - The Artichoke Frittata Panini - Wow!!! Of course, you may choose your cheese, but the house recommends the aged Provolone. A steal at $8.99 ala carte or with Greek olives & pretzels $10.99.

New in the Wine Cellar
Cambrico, Madrid, Spain
Bodega Cambrico is located north of Madrid, Spain in the heart of the beautiful National Park, Sierra de Francia, “French Mountains”, named after the region south of Salamanca where Burgundian settlers repopulated that region in the 11th century.
575 Uvas (Spanish for grapes): This intense, complex and extremely silky wine is a blend of Tempranillo and Calabres. This is the ONLY wine that Cambrico blends. Their vines are all 80+ years in age, and the wine is quite fruit driven, and most certainly one of our most unique wines in the shop! Vintage 2005 price $55.99.
New Face in the Cheese Case
Bubalus Bubalis Mozzarella di Bufala
Bubalus Bubalis Fresh Bufala Mozzarella!!! Yep, right from Northern California! The name is almost as fun to say as it is to eat. Bubalis is Latin for Buffalo which is exactly the animal from where the milk comes from. It’s just as tasty as the mozzarella from Italy, but it doesn’t have to travel as far. It is slightly sweet, very velvety smooth and just delicious! And the price is very nice at $14.99 compared to the Italian at $19.99 for a 8oz. ball.
