Peachy Canyon Westside 2005 – Paso Robles $22.99 This Zin has flavors of blueberry pie, ripe strawberries, black pepper, spice, orange rind, and soft oak undertones. It is a big, full bodied beauty with a lingering finish. Mahon – Spain - $23/#: A Spanish cheese made from cow's milk that originated on the island of Minorca off the northeast coast of Spain. The rind is typically orange colored, which occurs from the outer rind being rubbed with a mixture of butter, oil and paprika. The cheese is cream colored and when mature, it has a firm to hard texture providing a sharp, somewhat salty flavor, due to the salt of the sea flavoring the grasses on which the cows graze.
Hartford 2004– Russian River – Sonoma, CA $33.99 Knockout aromas reminiscent of with East Asian spice, violet, raspberry and anise aromas complemented by flavors of blueberry jam mingled with anise and chocolate. Well-integrated tannins juxtapose exceptional viscosity, gravelly notes and a very opulent texture Old Quebec Super Sharp Cheddar – Canada - $20/#: This Vintage Canadian Cheddar has been aged for over 4 years! As the cheese matures, more moisture is removed resulting in a greater intensity in flavor. This is because the fat and protein are broken down into their more simple form, releasing a complexity of flavors. With age, the flavors intensify and the texture becomes firmer and drier.
Graziano 2004 – Mendocino, CA $22.99 This Zin comes from ten different Zinfandel vineyards scattered throughout the benchlands and hillsides of Mendocino County. This vintage displays a rich dark purple garnet color and deep aromas of raspberry, wild strawberry, spicy white pepper with hints of toasty oak. Uplifting flavors of ripe raspberry and earth combine to give this full-bodied Zin a generous mouth feel. Hereford Hop – England - $19/#: Hereford Hop's uniqueness derives from the fact that it is rubbed with ground, toasted hops, according to a medieval tradition. These are the same dried flowers used to lend the bitter flavor to beers and ales. The cheese itself is tender and buttery. The hops lend it a bitter aroma and flavor that is quite complimentary.
Spann Mo’ Zin 2004 – Russian River – Sonoma, CA $21.99 72% Zinfandel, 23% mourvèdre, 5% Petite Sirah with a marvelous raspberry and leather aroma that works nicely with the blackberry flavors of our Dry Creek Zinfandel.
